Stoney Creek was a city until 2001 when it was amalgamated with the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth. Stoney Creek is a popular community located east of Hamilton, located between Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment. You’ll find one of Niagara Escarpment’s most remarkable natural formations here. Stoney Creek is famous as the site of the Battle of Stoney Creek, part of the War of 1812.
